A comprehensive Weazel News Review Where Can I Hear It?Before we get into the review, it's important that you know where you can hear it should you decide it's worth your time. The album is, however, completely FREE to listen to and download. You can click anywhere in this sentence to be directed to the full album. First ImpressionsWhen you first listen to the album, the first song you're thrown right into a song without any introductions or skits. This song is soft and eases you into the album well, though. The first song is actually a very old song from Queen Bee. According to Residual Records, this song was recorded six years ago when she was only 14. The song is rather emotion striking. This is possible because of the softness and innocence of her voice and the beat on this track. It isn't about her reminiscing on events, too. It's actually right after certain events happened which really make it even more emotive and from the heart. The song makes a lot more sense if you've read her biography. Even if you haven't you can still make out what the song is about. It really sets the tone for the rest of the album. After the track finishes, there is around 5 seconds of silence before the first of six "announcements" starts. Ts pause is amazing on the first viewing. It gives you time to really think about what you just heard. However, on repeat views it become slightly annoying. There are a total of 6 announcements on the track. Each one features fellow Residual Records star "The Beast" talking. Apart from the last one, they're not very long and add something very unique and different to them. Each announcement comes before and after a "commercial break." According to the Queen Bee biography, these are intended to lighten up the album a little when it gets a bit too deep so it doesn't isolate a lot of its audience. All of the commerical breaks contain Residual Records star "Tri$ha" beforeher crash and are all covers of other songs, rather than original songs. These are the only cover songs on the album. All of the others are original songs by Residual Records. It's not really part of the album, but the cover art is amazing in our opinion. It's very simple but has great use of photography and says a lot about what the album is about. PositivesThe album does a great job in striking emotions. We here at Weazel News have an incredibly diverse set of staff and everyone who heard the album - from the manly-man to the pregnant, hormonal women all reported being extremely touched. Some tears were even shed! The album also sounds amazing! The production value is incredible and very, very surprising! After hearing Exploit Records' (Residual's old brand) work (where the production wasn't the best and it didn't sound that good) we were extremely surprised on how well it sounded, even before the lyrics. Rapper FranTiK's songs sounded especially well produced, with Queen Bee's songs sounding like popular pop songs. We can't really explain how they remind us of them but they do without actually being similar to any pop songs we know. Tri$ha's commercials do seem a little out of place (other than the first one - she has three in total), but they do a good job in bringing your mood and retention back up. They're all covers but it's obvious that Residual Records have recorded the beats themselves because they have changed the tunes slightly from the originals. The first one, a cover of Dr. Dre's "F*ck You" is a perfect example. She actually sounds better than any of the original versions which is surprising. The beats do, too. They sound better than the original versions. NegativesAs with anything, there is some down sides to the album. Firstly, on Announcement 6 an MSMC member, Kiera, throws a sly insult towards The Beast. But what's wrong with this? Well upon hearing it it's obvious that they were not in the studio at the same time when they recorded these, unlike with The Beast, FranTiK and Russ who it was clear they were. This is explained in Queen Bee's biography, however, as they would not have had time to fly Kiera to their studio as she lives in New York and their studio in in Los Angeles. Whilst it makes sense and is understandable, it stands out quiet a lot and we think they should've just left her few words out of it. This second one won't matter to you if you've never spoke to The Beast before, but for those who have you know what's wrong with his announcements.. HIS VOICE!! Firstly, he is talking in a much high pitch than his natural voice for some reason. The Beast naturally has a very deep and raspy voice. We actually spoke to him about it in a 2015 interview, where he had this to say about his voice: To be honest, I dont know. If I talk louder it gets a bit higher, but for the most part I've had this voice since I was 11. I don't really know where it came from. I like it, though. I do try and talk in a higher voice [and less raspy?] around people, though, or they [tend to] take the p*ss out of it a bit. Guess it's a bit unusual. WEAZEL NEWS REPORTER: It is though, isn't it? For a 15 year old. Do you smoke? I dunno. Not really, it's just a voice innit? And I don't smoke, no. Not really. Used to until I was like 10... So we don't really know why The Beast chose to talk in such a higher voice on this track. He does talk in a voice more resemblant of his own on Announcement 6, though, but it's still not his real voice. It's not only the way his voice sounds, though, he's actually putting on a different accent. We'll ask him why in an interview coming very soon!! The only other complaint we could possibly have about this album is Announcement 6. Now.. This was an amazing skit. It's the best announcement by far. However, even ignoring Kiera on the track, The Beast, seemingly out of nowhere and for no reason, just bursts out into a long laughing fit. This had our team divided. On one hand, half our office loved it and started laughing along with it; but on the other hand half our office was left wondering why they didn't just re-record it. Again, we'll mention it in a recent interview with Residual Records coming soon!! Album InformationTotal Run Time: 28:52 Number Of Tracks: 16 (10 Without Skits) Release Date: 06/30/2017 Artists: Queen Bee , The Beast , Tri$ha , FranTiK , Apollo 13 , James Budden ConclusionInterest/Retention --> 5/5 Sound Quality --> 4.5/5 Production --> 5/5 Sound --> 5/5 Lyrics --> 5/5 We give "Life Hurts" by Queen Bee a 9.8/10!! You can't deny that Residual Records have done an amazing job here. Especially since they're not only working off the budget of a Grand Theft Auto based music company (so.. not a lot), but that they only had less than 12 days max to completely re-create the album. This is the best score we have ever given for a review here at Weazel News. No other review has come close to 9.8/10 and we don't think anything else will any time soon. Other Reviews"Great album. This biography was written by "The Beast," a fellow Residual Records artist and very close personal friend of "Queen Bee." This biography has been read by Queen Bee, who confirmed its accuracy and gave us permission to publish it here on Weazel News. Any part of the biographies that Weazel News included themselves will be in purple text. Everything else was created by her representative, "The Beast." Also, whilst Queen Bee did confirm the accuracy of the biography and give us permission to publish it, she was not involved or influencing the writing process. This is a Weazel News Exclusive biography!! Not confirmed to be an actual picture of Queen Bee. BiographyQueen Bee is a musical artist from New York, United States. Queen Bee is 20 years old, being born August 18th, 1996. Queen Bee (real name Holly Mae) grew up in an impoverished area of Brooklyn, New York. Her mother worked two jobs and her father, Chris, was an alcoholic and gambling addict. Mae never got along with her father very much, even from a young age. When Holly was 9 years old, her mother and father broke up, and when she was 10 her mother, Emilia, met another man named Leroy. Leroy lived in a poor neighbourhood in California known as “Watts” with his then 16 year old son, Tyrone. Leroy worked as a janitor in a school for years. He literally saved up every cent they earned until he was able to afford a laptop. From there, he would frequent locations with free WiFi access and teach himself how to trade on the stock market. After Tyrone got into some trouble in California, the two were forced move right across the country to New York where Leroy met Emilia. In New York, Leroy didn’t stop teaching himself how to trade and just got better and better at it. By the time Holly was 12, Tyrone and Leroy had moved into Holly’s house. It was only a small house and just had three bedrooms so Leroy and Emilia shared a room, Holly had one to herself and Tyrone shared one with Holly’s younger brother, Ryan. Ryan is 5 years younger than Holly. Fortunately, when Holly was 13 her Leroy’s investments had paid off big and he had encountered a rather substantial sum of money. They all moved around for 9 months, going from New York to Maryland to Connecticut to Delaware to Pennsylvania, Kentucky, North Carolina (Briefly) before going to Washington D.C. Nowhere really felt like home and when Leroy suggested, half jokingly, moving to England, the family was completely overjoyed and excited. Tyrone especially had always wanted to visit London. Not long after, the family moved to the United Kingdom. They first went to London for two weeks, but Tyrone getting into more trouble with local gangs meant they had to move away again. They went to Middlesbrough for a week and then Manchester for about a month. Emilia wanted away from big cities and suggested moving to Wales, a very rural part of the U.K. Holly knew somebody that she met over Xbox Live who was from North Wales so she insisted that they moved there. They did (she was 14 at this point) and they stayed there ever since. When Holly was 14 some unfortunate circumstances occurred which resulted in a pregnancy. Holly gave birth at 15 to a daughter named Rosie and moved out of her house not longer after. Leroy helped her get a mortgage and down-paid extremely large deposits. At 18, Queen Bee was victim to terrifying attack which resulted in extreme strain to her vocal cords and crushing of her Larynx which left her completely unable to talk for two weeks. After two weeks, however, it wasn’t much better, with the ending results being her voice permanently stuck in an ear-ringingly high pitched voice, reminiscent of a very young child. Queen Bee put it best when, in a 2016 livestreamed YouTube interview with “The Daily Globe,” when she said, “So I’ve got a four year old daughter, ‘right, and her voice is deeper than mine. When we walk down the street or go out together, people usually look down at her when I talk to them or assume I’m just imitating [her].” Fortunately, in May 2017, Holly, along with a close friend of hers, Tri$ha, who had also suffered from recent trauma to her voice underwent surgery to have it somewhat corrected. Holly’s surgery was extremely successful; whilst Tri$ha’s wasn’t, unfortunately, and may have caused further damage. The bad side, to Residual anyway, of the operation’s success it that Holly wanted to re-do her album in her own voice. This caused so much trouble and stress at Residual, who had already set a release date (and had already delayed it since Febuary 2015 and couldn’t do it again). This was added onto even more because of three facts:
Yep, a complete new 16-track album was made in only 13 days whilst the previous 12 track album took 3 years to make. I need to add that absolutely none of this was intended to slate Holly. She’s an amazing person. She’s a great friend and is very professional and fun to work with, this was just intended to tell the story of how this record came about. After years of coping with addiction, depression and psychological trauma all throughout her teenage years, The One and Only “Queen Bee” is now doing better than ever and released her first record under Residual Records in 2017 entitled “Life Hurts.” Life Hurts was meant to project all of the ways negativity affects life. The concept was thought up by manager / agent and fellow Residual Records artist, Saul “The Beast” Trow, who came up with the idea of the “commercial breaks” as a way to not only promote what could’ve been a good career for Tri$ha, but also to lighten up the mood of the “depressing” album, as mentioned in Announcement 6. This was inspired by rap artist The D.O.C.’s debut album, “No One Can Do It Better” which contained two “commercial breaks” (held by MC Ren and Michel’le), though for different reasons. THIS WAS A VERY BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF QUEEN BEE’S LIFE AND IN NO WAY REPRESENTS EVERYTHING SUBSTANTIAL THAT HAS OCCURRED IN HER LIFE.
SOME THINGS WERE LEFT OUT OR CHANGED VERY SLIGHTLY UPON REQUEST OF QUEEN BEE HERSELF.
We reported a few months ago on Twitter (@WeazelNewsGTAO) that most of the major criminal gangs in San Andreas a well as in Liberty and Alderney are now working together. Though this made it harder for police to crack down on gang activity, it meant there were considerably less gang shootouts or violence. In fact, gang presence as a whole has dropped considerably. However, since the Carson Mafia Ballas set got a new leader last week, all that has changed. The Carson Mafia Ballas set stopped working with other gangs in the area such as the Families,Vagos and Aztecas, resulting in other Ballas sets doing the exact same thing. Because of this, Los Santos has seen a dramatic increase in gang activity which, inevitably, resulted in a fatal gang shootout earlier today where 4 civilians were killed along with 9 police officers. This change has prompted the White House to grant the LSPD and the LSSD an extra $50,000 to tackle gang activity in south-central L.S.
Actual image of Carson Mafia Ballas leader, along with another gang member. The two men captured in the Snapmatic selfie above are members of the Carson Mafia Ballas set.
The gang member in the foreground is reportedly the gang leader; though the police have not issued a name for him. The member wearing purple to his left is another gang member who participated in the fatal shootout this morning that left 19 dead. Both these men are considered highly dangerous. If you spot either of them, please contact the FIB on Twitter (@FIBGTAO). We've all wanted to be President of our own little country at one point, but what if we told you that, whilst that dream may be unlikely, you could easily become president of the Grand Theft Auto community? Well, you'd want to know how, right? So here we're going to explain exactly how to run for (and potentially win) the July 2017 Presidential Election and become president of Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto Online. Step 1: Joining a partyThere are tens of governmental parties in Grand Theft Auto. Choose the one that suits your beliefs and motivations the best and apply to join their party. Lets take a look at the three most popular parties, as well as the currently reigning government party:
Can't find a party that's right for you? In this case it's simple! All you have to do is pay a small fee of $25 and you could set up your very own governmental party! To do so, just contact @GovernmentGTA on Twitter and tell them you wish to start your own party. Step 2: Applying to runOnce you are head of your party, you can choose to run for government. The head of the party is always the person who becomes president, whilst their second in charge becomes their vice president. To make your party run, contact @GovernmentGTA on Twitter and tell them your party wishes to run for office. Step 3: CampaigningWhilst it is not necessarily needed, campaigning has been shown to dramatically increase a candidate's chances of being elected. The most important tool at your disposal is Twitter. Simply getting your name out there and briefly talking to people and news outlets regarding what you are about is a great way to earn votes and get people talking about you. According to the FIB, the average successful party spends around $12,000 on campaigning; though this certainly isn't needed - as proven by our current party who spend nothing on advertising and campaigning. Getting sponsorships (ESPECIALLY WITH NEWS OUTLETS OR YOUTUBE CHANNELS) has been proven to be the most effective way to promote your party and gain votes. It doesn't even cost that much, but be prepared to face the fact that the majority of sponsorship deals that are worth getting into will requrie you to pay some money. Step 4: VotingCandidates are allowed to vote themselves, so do it!! Your entire party should be voting for you to gain as many votes as possible. Step 5: Try againMost parties don't win on their first election. That's completely okay and normal. Don't worry about it. No matter how poorly your party performed, just learn from your mistakes and try again next time. Don't wait another 3 months to get campaigning, though. From the moment your party loses (or wins), get focusing on what you need to change. As soon as you've decided that, implement it and get a head start on your competition. Show the public how much your party wants to win and why you deserve to win. It's important to find out HOW the election system works within Grand Theft Auto. |
